I attempted to show the two main parts of the issue in the article: we are getting more and more of a specific type of food, and loosing the huge amount of variety in the food at the same time. I focused on perry, a type of British pear drink that is slowly going extinct.
I tried to highlight the more natural earthy colours, shapes and textures of the pear varieties (all of which are based on real pears), and copied the final "perfect" pear multiple times to make it appear eerily identical, with an unnaturally bright glisten and fake looking colour that is perfect all over.

The word perry can refer to a fermented pear juice drink and the wild pear trees from which it hails. These trees were once a classic – and ecologically vital – part of the landscape of England’s home counties......“Pears take decades to come to maturity, they have to be picked, rather than harvested from the ground, and each batch varies according to the pear varieties used. For all these reasons, perry can’t be produced on a commercial scale.”
